May I introduce you to Ms LuLu James. She is rather pretty. Her songs are a bit good too. She is headlining our numero uno Invader Records night at the ultra hip Seabright Arms next Thursday 3 May. Rumour has it that another excellent band are playing that night.. (N.B. I am talking about Ursa Minor (Little Bear)). If you’re cool you’ll be there. If you’re not there you’re not cool. Fact.
Good Day Blog Followers (all 11 of you.. respect). It seems the only illegal kicks I can get up to these days, being so closely followed by the paparazzi and all, is going to art exhibitions and taking forbidden photos for you lot. So.. Here is a lovely collage I did earlier (thanks Instagram) of the beautiful butterflies at the Damian Hurst exhibition. You’ll note that Hirst has caused quite some controversy throughout his time in the art world limelight due to the fact that most of his creations are a) not actually made by him and b) a bit morbid/weird/rubbish. I however like butterflies, gold, diamonds and prescription medication so I thought it was ace.
Before I met Alex Morris (aka Big Bear) I thought synths were for mega-science geeks who like space and sh*t & not leaving the comfort of their intergalactic wallpapered rooms. Now I’ve seen the error of my ways. They also like to make music. Welcome to Ursa Minor (Little Bear) where being cool is soooo over & being a bear is mad lolz for life. Real Talk.
The outstandingly talented beauty that is Golden Rabbit covered our song ‘Droplet Affection’. Everytime I hear it I can’t believe how wonderful it is….. If I were you I would prepare to have this on repeat for the rest of the week. A.maze.
Everyone should go straight to the Tate Modern & see the Boetti exhibition now… as in this minute. I don’t know much about art but I know this is good stuff… mainly because I am a child and like bright colours and big objects. I got into trouble with the security guard for taking this photo but I wrestled him to the ground and made a run for it.. That’s how much I love my blog.
Last night I worshipped at the alter of one of my biggest musical inspirations Mr James Murphy (head honcho of DFA Records and frontman of LCD Soundsystem), and quite frankly he was bloody great. I basically love him x infinity. I’ve had to steal this photo of his appearance at The Red Bull Academy from my friend Nick as I didn’t want to seem uncouth and take a load of photos in his face. Lucky for me Nick has no shame.
Today is the day I start to take my blogging responsibilities more seriously. I’m not ashamed of my past blogging behaviour but I am guilty of lack of commitment. Today is also Quentin Tarantino’s birthday so Happy Birthday to him. Here is a photo I chose of the man himself where he looks like he is winning big time. So let’s celebrate his birth and my new found love for Blogging. Amen.
